Our Wedding Story
We were married on July 17th 2021 at the beautiful New Drumossie Hotel in Inverness. We had an absolutely wonderful day and couldn’t have asked for more from all of the staff at the Drumossie. They were with us from the moment we booked till we checked out the day after.
Cheran found the dress of her dreams at Wedding Belles of Alness. The shop caters for a large variety of brides and Mel is so helpful and has fantastic product knowledge and went out of her way to find an absolutely stunning dress that made Cheran feel confident and beautiful.
After searching for a humanist celebrant that we felt comfortable with we were delighted to find Alicia MacDonald (Fuze Ceremonies). Alicia took the time to get to know us and created the most beautiful, personalised ceremony that everyone who attended and those that watched the livestream of the ceremony (also provided by Fuze Ceremonies) have let us know how lovely they thought it was. Alicia made us both feel very comfortable and made the daunting process of getting married easier and enjoyable.
Flowers were supplied by Rachel’s Country Flowers who had recently relocated her business from England up to Edderton in the Highlands. Rachel’s knowledge and experience with wedding flowers helped us to pick the arrangements and bouquets that we really wanted for our wedding. Her floral arrangements are stunning, and they lasted for a long time after the big day.
Trisha’s Tempting Treats in Tain supplied our wedding cake. Her cakes are to die for and beautiful. Trisha took the time to go through all the available options with us and was in regular contact from the day we placed our order through to delivery for the wedding.
Hair and makeup were provided by Lauren Heggie Hair of Tain and NM Skin and Beauty from Invergordon. Lauren has been Cheran’s hairdresser for many years, and they had been planning Cheran’s wedding hairstyle for a long time. Lauren’s skill and talent with hair is something to behold and she creates stunning hair-up designs.
Through Lauren, Cheran met Nicola from NM Skin and Beauty, Nicola made Cheran feel at ease from the moment of meeting her at her trial through to getting ready on the morning of the wedding. She really listened to what Cheran wanted for her makeup and for the rest of the bridal party. The makeup lasted all day and was utterly flawless.
The bride’s hair vine and bridesmaids and flower girl hairpins were all supplied by Alexandra Bespoke. Alexandra worked with Cheran to ensure that we had the correct colour for the bridesmaid’s hairpins. She sent photographs of three different choices, all of which were beautiful which made it hard to choose.
The bride’s Engagement ring was purchased from Ernest Jones Inverness. Wedding ring, necklace and earring set was from Forbes Jewellers of Tain. Groom’s wedding ring was bespoke from SI Craft Design of Westhill, Aberdeenshire.
Our wedding photography was done by Alison White Photography. Alison is a brilliant photographer, she managed to capture so many special moments, love and happiness from our wedding. She made the whole experience of getting photographed so easy and enjoyable, we love looking through our photographs from the day.
Highland Castle Entertainment provided both the DJ and the magic mirror photo experience for the reception. Although Covid limited our reception, we still enjoyed the music and our guests loved using the photo mirror.
Mother of the bride’s outfit was from Rouge Boutiques of Inverness. The ladies at Rouge Boutiques helped Alice to find the perfect outfit that made her feel confident and special. Mother of the groom’s outfit was supplied by La-Di-Da Fashion Inverness helped suggest options to Linda and helped her to find the perfect outfit.
Our wedding was perfect from start to finish, all of our suppliers went above and beyond to make our day special and memorable.
